Telling Stories On Stage and in the Classroom
Eliza Rasheed is a Maldivian/Taiwanese multi-disciplinary performance artist based in Minnesota. Her work and activism have taken her across the United States and Asia. Eliza’s work primarily focuses on fostering spaces to tell stories that are not often told in Minnesota theatre, drawing from her lived experiences growing up as a multi-lingual, multi-racial and multi-cultural global citizen. As the director of Linwood Monroe Arts Plus (Upper Campus) Theatre Program in Saint Paul, Eliza finds joy in teaching theater to students from grade 4 through 8. Eliza is a recipient of the 2006 Jerome Foundation Many Voices Program at the Playwright’s Center and a 2015 Naked Stages Fellowship at Pillsbury House Theatre. IN BETWEEN was originally written and created through the 2015 Naked Stages Fellowship, directed by Leah Nelson.
Eliza Rasheed was part of the November 2017 installment of Art Is...Living In Between.
