SciGirls Role Models: Pallavi Sharma, IT Project Manager
Sometimes thriving in a STEM field takes a lot of perseverance, and Pallavi Sharma definitely has the determination to succeed. Pallavi has fought through challenges to write her own code for a successful work-life balance. Not only is Pallavi a Project Manager with Seagate, she is also a dedicated mother and a fitness addict. She loves to box, has a blackbelt in karate and blogs about fitness in her spare time. Talk about stress relief!
She also loves volunteering her time with the Girls in Tech MSP group and recognizes accomplished women in tech in the Twin Cities area by interviewing them. Pallavi takes her “techy” side and pairs it with her creative personality in order to write code and see what that code produces. Her company supports the factory that makes hard drives for computers, but they also collaborate with partners both near and far! Although Pallavi loves what she does, it was not always enjoyable. Pallavi’s experience is relatable to many students – STEM subjects were not easy for her, and she saw school as a major challenge while growing up in India. However, she pushed through her difficulties and now shares her inspiring story with many young people across Minnesota.
