Find Out Why Minnesota Could Be a Big Loser in 2020

By Lisa Blackstone

Minnesota is on the verge of losing representation in the US Congress. During the last Census, Minnesota almost lost what is currently the state's 8th congressional district, which covers the northeastern corner and includes Duluth. And that could mean that Minnesota might one day have one less congressperson in Washington, D.C., whose job revolves around promoting the best interests of the state.

"If we're under-counted, then we might be under-represented," says former Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton.

This is one of the reasons why participation in the 2020 census is mission critical for Minnesota.
