Ali Sultan Turns Fear into Comedy

Ali came to the US from Yemen as a boy, and it was here that he saw stand-up comedy for the first time. After watching Jim Gaffigan on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", he was hooked.

Ali explores the fear immigrants have about the current state of our union in an effort to break through to an audience. He is part of a growing young comedy scene that embraces diversity, differences in political views, and new ways to make people laugh.

We taped Ali at ACME comedy Co. in Minneapolis, where he regularly performs. Ali was recently featured on Comedy Central’s "Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City" as a featured comedian.
