Activists Go Head-to-Head on Gun Legislation in MN
By Almanac
Many states have changed gun laws in recent years as mass shootings at schools and places of worship have occurred across the country. Minnesota has debated legislation, but current law has not been changed.
The 2019 DFL-led House has pushed for two changes this year but those bills are likely to find resistance in the Republican-led Senate. One of the proposals would require universal background checks, and the other has been dubbed "The Red-Flag Bill."
Two citizen activists, one for the changes and one against, debated the merits of these bills on the Almanac couch.
